How BUSD BEP-20 webhooks work

At sub-second block times, polling BscScan or a public RPC for each address quickly runs into rate limits, and eth_getLogs ranges have to be paged carefully so no block is skipped. Chainhook scans every block once, waits 15 confirmations, and pushes only the transfers that match your addresses.

  1. Register the address

    Create a webhook with network: "bsc", type: "token" and the address you want to watch. The signing secret is returned once.

  2. Chainhook waits for confirmations

    Every BNB Smart Chain block is scanned. A matching BUSD transfer is held until it is 15 blocks deep, about 7 seconds.

  3. Your endpoint gets a signed POST

    A transfer.detected event arrives with an X-Webhook-Signature header. Failed attempts are retried automatically, up to 3 attempts in total, waiting 1 minute, then 5 minutes between attempts.

Verify the signature

X-Webhook-Signature is a hex HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body, keyed with your webhook's secret. Reject any request where it doesn't match.

Crediting BUSD deposits safely

Only this contract

Chainhook reports BUSD transfers from 0xe9e7cea3dedca5984780bafc599bd69add087d56 only. Tokens on BNB Smart Chain that copy the BUSD name or symbol are ignored, so a spoofed deposit never reaches your endpoint.

18 decimals

BUSD on BNB Smart Chain uses 18 decimals. Credit the amount string, or scale amount_raw by decimals; never parse amounts as floating-point numbers.

A webhook with type: "token" reports every listed token on the address. Filter on currency and contract_address if you only accept BUSD.
